Helping utilities enhance processes through deploying technology that can scan and quantify grit accumulation and loss of capacity in wastewater treatment tanks and large diameter pipes.

Secured 50% increase in wastewater rates and $40 million in grant funding, implemented multiple water, wastewater, and reclaimed water master plans, private sewer lateral policies, strategic plan, led the wastewater/stormwater partnership comprised of 17 municipalities and aimed at reducing rain-derived sanitary sewer overflows. Developed multiple employee programs including recognition, safety, innovation and leadership development/succession.

Direct operations for water and wastewater collection, treatment, and transmission.

Manage 51 direct and indirect staff including operations, facility and pump station maintenance, Instrumentation & Controls, senior chemist, project coordinators, and education program staff for a 35 acre 33 mgd wastewater facility with an annual operating budget of $18.5 million. Responsible certifier for all regulatory reporting to Federal, State and Local agencies. Manage several multimillion dollars contracts, data management software and provide substantial input on capital improvement and master planning projects. Instituted a culture of accountability combined with recognition for achievements. Collaborated with Risk Management to establish a detailed Plant Operations contractor inspection program to align with OSHA standards. Facilitate the development of a Plant Operations asset onboarding/decommissioning process workflow in preparation for Enterprise Asset Management.

Coordinated up to 30 Capital improvement projects for the South Cross Bayou AWRF working with Pinellas County engineering, consultants, contractors and subcontractors for successful design and startup of new systems while integrating staff involvement from the beginning of the project through design review and construction. Organized staff operational and maintenance training for new equipment upon project completion. Architected and implemented streamlined workflows for processing order requests and approvals for purchasing utilizing SharePoint. Managed Integrated Contingency Plan project for Plant Operations including hazard and operability studies (HAZOP) for hazardous chemical processes.

Successfully investigated and coordinated corrective action for out of spec production of multimillion dollar commercial product through modified sterile filtration technique. Developed protocol for gamma sterilization of active pharmaceutical ingredients. Trained operations teams on sterile operating protocols.

Provided support on proposal development, project technical supervision, cost estimating, equipment design and selection, project coordination, process design, bench and pilot plant testing for multiple projects supporting the following industries: Phosphoric acid and DAP, Pulp & Paper/Tall Oil Acidulation and other chemical industries.

Provided engineering support for process design, hydraulic and pump calculations, detailed design, and/or installation, startup and commissioning support for phosphoric acid expansion project, utilities improvement and DAP expansion project.

Responsible for design performance testing of a patented somatropin mechanical inhaler delivery system including technician management and training, writing test protocols and reports detailing results for submission to the FDA. Responsible for design reviews and testing for modified prototypes while participating as a team leader for investigating product complaints from clinical trials.
