Instructor for Comm 365: Visual Culture and Visual Literacy (an Upper Level Writing course). GSI of 38 students. Responsibilities included assisting lead professor in lesson, writing assignment, and exam planning, as well as designing engaging discussion sections and commenting on and editing student writing. Designed and led weekly discussion sections in which students were encouraged to further their understanding of course materials through active tutorials and workshops applying core concepts and skills.Line-edited and commented on each student's essays, offering suggestions for clarity and concision as well as correcting grammar, spelling, style, and adherence to APA/MLA style guides.

(Fall 2013)Responsibilities:- Assigned to courses for a semester-long term, during each of which I worked with ten to fifteen students on their drafts for every major writing assignment. Also worked closely with a professional writing mentor and professors to determine specific disciplinary standards for student writing.- Identified, analyzed, and corrected problem areas in writing clarity and conceptual cohesion through line-editing, workshops, and one-on-one conferences. Emphasis placed on the development of skills in structuring an argument, linguistic precision, and textual analysis.

- Worked as the co-lead editor on a five-person editorial team to select, compile, fact-check, and line-edit student essays for publication in NYU’s annual expository essay anthology “Mercer Street.”- As Senior Editor, additional responsibilities included training and overseeing junior editors, working with student authors on significant redrafting efforts, and final selection of published essays.
