    I knew deep down that I wanted to leave my home state of Ohio for a new place that better matched my lifestyle. I searched the internet high and low, but didn't know where to find my perfect home. I realized that I am a gut-feeling person, so with much saving and planning the hiatus of epic proportions was born. I embarked on the journey to find a new home state at the end of the 2017 summer. For 100 days I traveled around America and a bit of Canada. The road-trip stretched on for over 10k miles. The exploration was a fantastic whirlwind of trials and tribulations cruising along paved, rocky, and sometimes nonexistent roads. In the end the pilgrimage included visits to 17 National Parks, countless National Forests, 5 state parks, 10 states and even two countries. I saw glorious scenes that made it feel like I was living within an Instagram Feed. Along the way, I realized that to be surrounded by nature and living in awe was it, my home. As I grew into a 'tried and true' expert of packing the car, finding a bathroom and setting up a tent in the dark I had also stumbled across what I was looking for. My adventure continues as I explore and experience all that my newly found home base of Bend, OR offers.
