As an SCT I assisted with survey field work, AutoCAD designs, and customer service while working with Ranchers on Conservation Designs. I also assisted the District Conservationinst with program work. I gained a greater proficiency working with GPS units, including a backpack beacon unit, as well as generating maps and shapefiles on ArcMap. In the field I.

Worked on a rangeland management project development crew, building fences, monitoring vegetation, and watershed improvement. Fence varieties included: buck and pole, post and pole, and barbed wire, including four-strand wildlife friendly fences. Worked in various terrains with a team and alone. Performed routine maintenance and weekly cleanup at camp ground sites to make the campgrounds enjoyable for guests. Drove maintenance truck and patrolled forest roads to inspect for compliance with proper forest use in times of high fire danger. Constructed signs which promoted fire safety and awareness. Worked on a cultural restoration project at the Pot.
