As an SCT I assisted with survey field work, AutoCAD designs, and customer service while working with Ranchers on Conservation Designs. I also assisted the District Conservationinst with program work. I gained a greater proficiency working with GPS units, including a backpack beacon unit, as well as generating maps and shapefiles on ArcMap. In the field I learned how to use a standard level and rod for measurement, as well as laser level survey. I have also had brief exposure to the Total Station method of surveying.I have had training in Cultural Resources awareness, Environmental Analysis of projects, and Nutrient and Pest Management.

Worked on a rangeland management project development crew, building fences, monitoring vegetation, and watershed improvement. Fence varieties included: buck and pole, post and pole, and barbed wire, including four-strand wildlife friendly fences. Worked in various terrains with a team and alone. Worked in conjunction with permittees to construct new fences or repair old ones. Continued practice of Arc GIS mapping from previous BLM seasonal work. Organized and entered vegetation monitoring into Excel spreadsheets. Digitized historical photos for rangeland improvement comparisons.

Instructed groups of children in ski skills. Worked part-time, approximately one week per month (heavy holiday seasons). Pay was 7.15 per hour with an added pay per student in our groups and a bonus pay for return students. Work involved solo-teaching and team-teaching groups of 1-20 students, ages 4-12. Interacted with parents of children to explain progress in ski-school classes.

Helped with preparation of cabinets for final finishing spray. Operation involved pre-coating, sanding, and finish spraying, custom-built wooden cabinets. Job required close attention to detail, patience and teamwork to produce the best final product. Occasionally helped on the cabinet assembly line (pre-finish room) and with cabinet installations (post-finish room) in customer's homes.

Performed routine maintenance and weekly cleanup at camp ground sites to make the campgrounds enjoyable for guests. Drove maintenance truck and patrolled forest roads to inspect for compliance with proper forest use in times of high fire danger. Constructed signs which promoted fire safety and awareness. Worked on a cultural restoration project at the Pot Creek cultural site. Worked with one coworker during most of the season, and sometimes worked alone.
