MEGAWRA IS AN ARCHITECTURAL HUB • for students and young graduates of architecture– as a resource, space for meeting, learning, networking, discussing, thinking and doing. • for young groups initiatives concerned with the development of architecture and the related fields of construction, urban studies and art– for cross fertilization and interaction and co-operation between the different disciplines and age groups. • for raising the awareness of society of the critical role these fields play in their lives and opening channels for mutual communication and cooperation. • for exchange within and across the fields of architecture, construction, urban studies and art on both the international and local level.MEGAWRA will be a space that contains a library with print matter, e-resources and audiovisual material; a space for a mentorship system for students with architectural masters who pass on their specialized knowledge to the younger generations; a meeting space reserved for the use of young groups and initiatives; a workspace reserved for the use of students; and general spaces for exhibitions, workshops, lectures, seminars and training. It will also run a residence that accommodates international exchanges, but also serves Egyptians from outside Cairo who come to use MEGAWRA resources or participate in its activities.MEGAWRA will be primarily for the above-mentioned target groups but will also be open to the public. It will hold most of its activities within the space but it will also plan and organise outreach programs in other spaces especially targeting the provinces of Egypt. It will also participate in international exchanges and events.
