I founded Flow Financial Planning in order to give financial guidance and support to women in the tech industry, an industry that offers many financial opportunities but comes with significant challenges for women. I believe that women in tech need to focus on both career and financial opportunities. I provide financial guidance, yes, but just as important, also a connection to a broader community of professionals who can help you succeed in the industry. At Flow, I use a process that gently introduces us to the totality of your financial life, getting more clarity with each meeting. My goal is to avoid overwhelming or intimidating you, which finances have a tricky way of doing! I help registered investment advisory firms provide comprehensive or targeted financial planning to existing or one-off clients. I provide the soup-to-nuts financial-planning experience, from data gathering, to client communication, to analysis, to presentation of the plan. This allows the firm to provide thorough financial planning services without derailing their normal workflows and efficiencies, and uses my strongest skills: establishing a comfortable rapport with clients, drawing a detailed, comprehensive picture of their client's entire financial life, and putting those pieces together in the context of the client's circumstances and desires.

My primary tasks were to help transition systems and processes after an acquisition of my previous firm, help the new firm understand the financial and personal dynamics of the transitioning clients, and continue to provide financial planning support, comfort, and familiarity during a time of transition for those clients.

I provided support across the entire business process, supporting the Principal of the firm (a solo practice) and the firm's clients. Tasks included doing analysis of client portfolio and financial situation in preparation for review meeting, following up with clients, keeping up-to-date on legislative and compliance changes, and developing and presenting ways of improving client-service and back-office workflow.

Most of my career as a technical writer was as the lead writer at nCircle Network Security, a startup (since acquired by Tripwire). I also did contract work for Workday, Inc and a variety of small startups in San Francisco.

ThoughtWorks is an IT consulting firm that develops custom software systems for large companies. As a business analyst, I worked as the "translator" between end users and developers. My primary role was translating user requirements, the desired user experience, into use cases, which the developers could use to create technical specifications.
