Push Play is an online company providing delivery-by-mail DVD rental services to customers across SA. It would be hard to define my “job title” at PushPlay. It was a small company and a highly entrepreneurial environment, and I was hired for my potential to fill multiple roles, and take initiative in exploring new projects and improvements to current services. Broadly speaking, my tasks & responsibilities included Business Analysis, Customer Relationship Management, Quality Assurance, Project and Team Management and the initiation and execution of a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme.

I began my time at Open Box as a Software Analyst specialising in Quality Assurance. I was responsible for testing a wide variety of applications to ensure that they met the company's high quality and performance standards.I quickly proved my capabilities, however, and was soon given responsibilities in Junior Project Management. In this role, my responsibilities increased to include business problem analysis, drawing up of requirements specification documentation, scheduling and monitoring of the workflow and project team, and managing client communication through the project life-cycle.

Though on my arrival in the US, I had no experience in retail or skiing, I proved myself to be an invaluable asset to the company during my short time there. I was called upon in a number of crises and was trusted after only a few weeks to run the store on my own. I proved myself to be a fast learner and an incredible team player.
