Selected as a charter corps member from a pool of 19,000 applicants to establish this national organization in the Connecticut region. Responsible for lesson planning, teaching, and advising approximately 100 students/year at Fair Haven K-8 school: a high priority, title I school. Nearly 90% of my students showed significant growth on district assessments and writing prompts, and 70% of them will be entering high school at the proficient or beyond-proficient level. I also served on the School Planning and Management Team's instructional committee, coached girls' basketball, and offered after-school and test-prep tutoring.

Wrote stories and student profiles for alumni brochures and catalogs. Assisted students with essay writing and revising.
