The design of the built environment supports our well-being and feeds the passion I have for mindful architectural practices. For the last 20 years, I have been fortunate to collaborate, problem-solve, and manage projects in the senior living and long-term care sectors. Efforts such as campus master planning and design for establishments such as nursing care, assisted living, memory care, and community centers require innovative solutions which fuel my creativity and motivation to continuously learn as these environments evolve. Additionally, I am an active committee member serving the American Institute of Architects Design for Aging Knowledge Community. This curiosity to better understand supportive living environments is crucial to share with future generations of industry leaders. Throughout my career, I have dedicated numerous hours to mentoring youth in the community who have an interest in architecture. As founder and chair of a local outreach program, N.E.W. Workshop, I team with other local female leaders to introduce and educate high school girls about careers they otherwise would not be exposed.
