About Meg Gilbert Crofton
As an accomplished senior leader, I was extremely fortunate to build a 35-year career with The Walt Disney Company, helping to shape this prestigious global brand. With direct accountability for multifaceted operations and 100,000+ “cast members”, together we delivered record levels of revenue and profits, developed world class leadership talent, focused on continuous improvement of guest experiences, and drove strategic change to include the integration of physical and digital experiences. In 2015 I retired from Disney and I’m making the most of my leadership experience through contributions to corporate and philanthropic boards. I’m currently on the board of Cracker Barrel Old Country Store and Tupperware Brands, as I enjoy working with consumer-facing companies who believe that a great customer experience depends on a great employee experience. They are also dedicated to giving back and making the world a better place. In addition, I truly enjoy and welcome speaking opportunities aimed at leaders who are focused on their own development, customer service, culture building, and change management. During my presentations, I use storytelling and Q&A dialogue to share my career journey and lessons learned. With a passion for developing leaders, I derive great satisfaction from empowering high potential talent to become the best possible version of themselves. I’m interested in mentoring roles for executives and consulting projects on change management initiatives. I’m confident that the wisdom and experiences I share can bring game-changing results.I am a lifelong learner and inspirational leader who is highly motivated to engage in meaningful work that will be of service to others. I believe it is both a responsibility and a privilege to share our experiences in life and leadership, and to pay it forward. As an avid collector of inspirational quotes, one of my favorites is “leaders don’t force others to follow, they invite them on a journey.” (Charles Lauer)

Independent Board Director
President, Walt Disney Parks & Resorts Operations, U.S. & France
Most recently with Disney’s Parks and Resorts Division, I became one of 3 COOs charged with driving smooth operations of the Parks and Resorts business segment. My direct responsibilities were for the Walt Disney World Resort, Disneyland Resort, and Disneyland Paris. This involved overseeing a workforce of over 100,000 cast members at 3 sites with direct accountability for 8 theme parks, 31 hotels, and large-scale retail, dining, and entertainment properties. In total this represented a significant share of the total revenue for the entire business segment. In addition to domestic and international operations, I had responsibility for the global lines of business which supported the entire parks and resorts division. These lines of business provided expertise in food and beverage, merchandise, hotel and park operations, entertainment, industrial engineering, safety, security, and facilities asset management.During my tenure, we undertook massive cultural change, which entailed leveraging best practices, enabling international expansion, and developing talent worldwide. This included driving a seismic cultural and organizational shift from operating as independent sites for decades to becoming a truly global organization. Another major change effort was the integration of the physical and digital experiences, first implemented at The Walt Disney World Resort.I was also privileged to serve as the company’s external facing leader representing Disney on local, state, and national levels. I was a keynote speaker at many engagements annually and served in executive leadership board positions for major community, state, and nonprofit endeavors.Upon my retirement, I received the highest honor Disney bestows – a dedicated window on Main Street, U.S.A. in the Magic Kingdom Park at Walt Disney World Resort. It celebrates my legacy of mentoring and leadership development.
President, Walt Disney World Resort
IIn 2006, I was promoted into this role as the fourth President of the Walt Disney World Resort. As a result, I provided operational leadership and strategic direction, while overseeing a workforce of more than 66,000 cast members at the world’s premiere family vacation destination and the largest single-site employer in the country.During my tenure, we undertook the largest expansion ever in the Magic Kingdom Park’s 40-year history. We rebranded and significantly expanded the property’s retail, dining, and entertainment complex, and designed and implemented the award-winning My Magic Plus project. The integration of the physical and digital environments for both our guests and our employees was a major transformational effort and is still contributing to Walt Disney World's performance today.
Executive Vice President | Senior Vice President | Vice President
During these 13 years, I served in executive-level roles with key contributions to human resources, including the areas of organization improvement, talent development, guest satisfaction, and employee performance metrics. My career advancement during this time was as follows:EVP, HR and Diversity & Inclusion—WD Parks & Resorts (2002–2006)SVP, HR and Organization Improvement—WDW (1996–2002)VP, HR Development, Guest Satisfaction & Cast Excellence Measurement—WDW (1995–1996)VP, Resort Operations Deluxe/Convention Resorts—WDW (1993–1995)
Director | Task Force Leader | General Manager
During this decade, I was promoted steadily through a series of increasingly responsible managerial and director-level roles due to solid job performance, noticeable business results, and demonstrated ability to lead teams. My achievements included helping to open 7 hotels at Disneyland Paris, France, as the leader of a large task force. As well, I supported the openings of 10 properties at Walt Disney World Resort (hotels, water parks, and entertainment complex) from 1984 to 1987. My career progression during this time was as follows:Director, Resorts Convention Sales & Account Services (1992–1993)Task Force Leader, Disneyland Paris (1992–1992)Director, HR Development & Administration, Resorts & Task Force Lead, Resorts (1987–1992)General Manager, The Disney Inn (1984–1987)
Operations Manager & Marketing Roles
I began my career in marketing with GTE in the recently deregulated telecom industry. Then I was hired by Disney’s own telecom company to start a marketing department. Subsequently, I left to join the marketing team at the AT&T headquarters. It was a very positive experience but I knew that I left my heart at Disney. In due course, I was recruited back to Disney as the operations leader of their telecom company.
