• Led teams of 2-5 architects and 10-15 consultants through the documentation and coordination of a ~$40 million 143 key hotel and a ~$31 million 131 unit multi-family development with attached parking garage• Reviewed drawing sets at various checkpoints for code compliance, constructability, and compliance with client brand standards• Worked closely with project managers, owners and construction managers to keep projects on schedule and within budget through real-time value engineering and open communication• Responded to RFIs, reviewed submittals, change orders, and pay applications, and coordinated field modifications with subcontractors during the construction process• Wrote project specifications using SpecLink• Mentored younger staff in their development of problem-solving skills and applied reasoning• Joined the newly established Sustainability Action Group and co-developed the company’s sustainability action plan for the AIA 2030 commitment to carbon neutrality

After 7 1/2 years of working in the industry (and being in the middle of a global pandemic), I decided to step back and take a year off to reassess my goals, both personally and professionally. This year allowed me to build deeper relationships, travel, and explore opportunities and interests I just hadn’t had time for. I lovingly referred to it as my “first retirement”.

• Managed teams of 10+ architects, engineers, and outside consultants through the design, documentation, and construction of simultaneous school renovation and addition projects worth ~$28 million• Performed construction administration duties for a 20,000 SF building addition with 15,000 SF of major interior renovation in tandem with leading the documentation of a 76,000 SF new construction project• Provided part-time on-site construction administration for 2 years of a $100 million 275,000 SF multi-phase project, coordinating with subcontractors, construction managers and consultants through construction • Worked on LEED projects at New Trier High School, Stevenson High School, and Elmhurst SD 205 and assisted in reporting. • Developed agendas and recorded minutes for both internal and client meetings• Documented design and technical detailing of projects• Reviewed project estimates for consistency with design as documented• Guided clients through the establishment of project goals and programming requirements• Researched materials and products for project application• Prepared signage, finish, and furniture selection packages• Created graphics and presentations for project deliverables and community meetings • Organized social events (softball team, Chase Race and Canstruction) and volunteered for Green Apple Day of Service

The Solar Decathlon Competition challenges teams of students to develop sustainable solutions to small scale home design. The University of Illinois has been involved in the US competition since 2007. Due to the University's history in the competition, our team has been invited to co-host the Solar Decathlon China competition to be held in Datong, China in August of 2013. Our team is working with students from Peking University to develop a showcase house for exhibit during the competition. As a member of the Architectural Design Team, I have gained a stronger background in international communications as well as real world experience in the field of architecture and sustainable design.-Collaborated internationally with a team 60+ students to design and build a 100m2 net-zero, solar-powered house as a showpiece for an international competition in Datong, China-Modeled the project in BIM and coordinated other students through BIM management -Assisted in construction documentation-Created marketing materials for use in promoting the house and the competition

-Researched the application and economic feasibility of sustainable design practices in historic retrofits of Department of Defense-owned buildings-Created Excel databases to organize project information-Researched and cataloged sustainability webinars to be updated for future use
