I'm currently working full-time as a Jail Diversion Clinician assisting criminal justice clients getting mental health and substance use supports in the community, as opposed to being incarcerated. Previously, I was a clinical supervisor and substance use counselor at Codac Behavioral Healthcare in Newport, Rhode Island. I'm also a graduate student at RIC pursuing my clinical mental health counseling degree and will graduate in the Spring. I am a former Pre-Kindergarten teacher who taught for 15 years before transitioning into a new career that I feel deeply and profoundly passionate about. I've always been drawn to the meaning and foundation of human behavior while also possessing a personality that is drawn to supporting, listening and empowering those around me. I find that counseling is an avenue to work towards and achieve the healthiest and most positive version of oneself. Having a safe space to process what one may be going through is impactful and transformative. Compassion, empathy, kindness and support are a few of the many traits I value as a counselor.
