I wear many hats, but my main responsibility is for the structural drafting, detailing, and 3D modeling for a variety of projects in Revit. By utilizing my background as a structural engineer, I work side-by-side with our design engineers, project managers, and client's technicians to create highly accurate and constructable Revit models and construction documents in an efficient manner. Additionally, I perform schematic engineering, review shop drawings and do construction administration on some projects, in addition to creating Revit content and standards to streamline our processes. Spire Engineering provides structural engineering services for projects in the commercial, higher educational, industrial, and residential sectors.

Responsible for the structural engineering design of all aspects of a building project and performed the structural drafting, detailing, and 3D modeling for many of my projects in Revit (something which I am passionate for and believe makes me a more thorough and practical engineer). Additionally, I reviewed all shop drawings and performed construction administration on the structural aspects of my projects and saw each one through completion. Being a multi-disciplinary firm, Performa provides structural engineering support to in-house architects and MEP engineers on projects in the commercial, higher educational, industrial, and mission sectors.

Generated cost estimates for spray-on insulation and fireproofing products by reviewing architectural plans and specifications. Involved in in-depth communication with various clientele and other individuals in the construction industry to gain more information pertaining to project-specific spray-on applications.

Exposed to several facets of the structural engineering career. Assisted multiple engineers in the company with numerous jobs including preliminary design estimation and design for construction, as well as gained knowledge relating to OSHA and IBC standards. In addition, developed templates to help streamline the department's processes.

Curtain wall design consultant intern. Analyzed current designs and suggested solutions for design problems. Performed calculations for approximately 15 different curtainwall design projects: work performed valued from $2,000-$11,000 per project. Independently managed projects and problems. Developed communication skills through interaction with clients and co-workers.

Calculated and redesigned sewer systems. Sampled and tested water from storm sewer systems in the field. Recorded and analyzed flooding issues. Developed reports relating to water treatment and filed existing plans. Learned a great deal about the municipal side of engineering by working in the Engineering Department for the City of Green Bay.
