Fulbright Board Member (Chicago Chapter) | Educator with almost 10 years in Education | Educational Leader (M.Ed) I am an experienced educator with 9 years in the field, currently teaching at Chicago Math and Science Academy. I hold a master’s degree in Education Leadership and an endorsement in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL). My dedication to fostering cross-cultural understanding and enhancing educational experiences for students has been a constant focus in my career.Fulbright InvolvementFulbright Board Member: Serving on the Chicago Fulbright Board, I contribute to our Mentorship Program, connecting Chicago-area alumni with incoming Fulbright scholars.Fulbright ETA, South Korea (2016-2017): As a middle school English teacher at Jeonnam Middle School, Gwangju, I introduced a new English curriculum and created a culture club to deepen students' cultural engagement. Outside of school, I tutored a North Korean defector family and led a cultural exchange program at the National University to bridge linguistic gaps and foster dialogue on contemporary issues.Fulbright Hays Grant, Hungary (2022): During the Summer Seminar Grant in Budapest, I developed an English Language Arts unit plan on Hungary’s cultural heritage, historical roots, and contemporary challenges for the U.S. Department of Education, aimed at enriching high school curricula.I am passionate about educational leadership, fostering a global perspective in students, and advocating for cross-cultural exchange in education.
