I guide brand messaging across social media channels, PR initiatives and employee communications. My responsibilities include writing, editing and consulting on messaging throughout our marketing and sales departments, leading community management strategy and building brand awareness. In this position, I have assisted in the launch of several brand campaigns and gained reputation management and customer service experience via social media. I created and launched an internal newsletter that continues to improve employee connections and loyalty.

As a writer for Budget Dumpster, I was responsible for the creation and optimization of SEO-friendly content for the blog and the website as a whole. I worked with influencers to create valuable content for customers that included inbound links and ranked well on search engines.

In this role, I was responsible for the organization's external communications including social media, print and digital advertising, marketing materials and quarterly and annual reports. During my time at DCA, I managed media relations, acted as a spokesperson as needed and organized media events. I worked with the leadership team to develop procedures to improve internal communications and quickly distribute company updates. I increased public awareness of the brand and ongoing events through public relations and media relations campaigns, and managed day-to-day tasks of marketing team including the tasks of a marketing coordinator and graphic designer.

As a summer intern with Highlights Magazine, I worked directly under the Director of Communications. I recorded the survey results of the annual State of the Kid report. I also assisted in planning and setting up the State of the Kid press event in Washington D.C. I wrote press releases and communicated directly with media.
