Meghan's doctoral project aims to explore young people’s lived experiences of pornography production, focusing on trends, health consequences, and needs. The results of this project will provide critical knowledge to ensure that young people harmed by the pornography industry receive the protection, support, and care they rightfully deserve.

As part of Talita's team, my research aims to deepen the understanding of prostitution and pornography, contributing to informed interventions and public education. My 2019 study on Sweden's pornography industry brought these conversations to a wider audience, highlighted through national television and a Kalla Fakta documentary. Currently, I have the privilege of contributing as an appointed expert to the Governmental Inquiry on the Protection, Support, and Care for Individuals Subject to Abuse in Pornography Production or Distribution (Dir 2022:100). I've also been tasked to conduct a research study on behalf of the Inquiry.

I spearheaded 'Reality Check' (www.reality-check.nu), a violence prevention project aimed at expanding young people's understanding of pornography and its impact. As project manager, I guided a dedicated team in the creation of a multifaceted toolkit that addresses pornography production, consumption, and cultural influence, tailored for both educational environments and other organizations serving youth.

In my capacity as a support worker at Talita, an NGO supporting women and girls exploited in prostitution, pornography and human trafficking for sexual exploitation, I provided emotional and practical support to women taking part in our comprehensive exit program. My responsibilities included case management, overseeing our team of volunteers, and facilitating emergency placements.

Meghan conducted research on behalf of Talita with the purpose of identifying how to more effectively assist and support Romanian women in our target group, both locally in Sweden and those who return to Romania. The final result is a comprehensive report used internally - as a guide for what Talita's next steps as an organisation should be - and to be used externally, in order to share knowledge with relevant actors.

Appointed Expert for the Governmental Inquiry into the "Protection, support, and care for individuals subjected to abuse in the production or distribution of pornography" (Skydd, stöd och vård för personer som har utsatts för övergrepp vid produktion eller distribution av pornografi, Dir. 2022:100). The Inquiry will map the current state of knowledge regarding violence and other abuses against adults and the exploitation of children in the production and distribution of pornography, and propose how access to protection, support, and care for adults and children can be improved.

As an analyst at Ramboll Management Consulting, I applied my quantitative and qualitative research skills. My role was centered around performing socio-economic impact assessments, as well as evaluating programs and policies within the sectors of migration, integration, employment, and gender equality. Key projects I contributed to include the interim assessment of the Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund (AMIF) for both the Swedish Migration Agency and the European Commission, and a comprehensive evaluation of the County Administrative Board's initiatives to combat men's violence against women, commissioned by the Swedish Government Offices.
