Connecting non-profit organizations and artists making handmade items throughout MN with MissionMade.MissionMade's purpose is to help other MN non-profits increase revenue and the capacity to tell their story in a new way to existing donors and new customers. After a decade of managing online stores for individual MN non-profits, we created MissionMade: a non-profit marketplace of online stores for consumers to purchase unique MN and globally made products and direct 20% of their sales back to a MN non-profit partner of their choice. These donations help fund and support community-building efforts by our non-profit partners in MN while also supporting the livelihoods of the artisans who hand-make the items we sell.

After selling and purchasing a new home last year, I realized I enjoyed the process of searching, finding and securing a home that was "right" for our family. I sincerely want to help others find a home that is just what someone is looking for. I love learning about new neighborhoods, parks, and schools within the Twin Cities and would love to help anyone interested in purchasing a new home, townhouse or condo find the spot that is the right fit for them and their families.

While on a trip to Jeremie, Haiti in 2007, Meghan met 7 inspiring artisans who were able to pay their high school fees by creating and selling beautiful, handmade bracelets.Inspired by the artisan’s fortitude and impressed with their craftsmanship, Meghan came home and presented a business proposal to FMSC to begin a retail outlet now known as The MarketPlace. What started out as a small-scale store selling bracelets from 3 artisan groups– has now grown into a thriving retail operation selling a large assortment of beautiful, handmade items while supporting 25 artisan groups in 7 countries and funding millions of FMSC meals to feed children around the world. Meghan’s mission in creating the MarketPlace was driven by her passion to support the incredible work of artisans around the world, promote sustainable economic growth in communities receiving FMSC food (in hopes that imported meals would no longer be needed) and to connect volunteers at packing sites here in the States to the communities they just packed food for through a beautiful handmade item they could purchase.A MarketPlace store is located at each of the seven packing sites as well as online (www.fmscMarketPlace.org) In order to spend time with her children, Meghan stepped down to a part-time role as Retail Operations Specialist. Tasks include:• Manage and maintain the online MarketPlace (fmscMarketPlace.org): update website content, manage inventory levels, create product bios/photos and execute seasonal Eblasts to drive increased sales. • Secure artisan bios/photos from artisan partners for marketing team and FMSC customers.• Lead and organize MarketPlace setup for 2 Annual FMSC Gala events, Holiday Shows & Special Events.• Manage Point-of-Sale System hardware and create/communicate procedures to FMSC staff.• Work with US Customs to properly import items and create/source merchandise fixtures for inventory.

As Retail Operations Manager, my role was to oversee all aspects of the FMSC MarketPlace. Tasks included:• Manage the overall operation of the MarketPlace store at seven permanent packing sites, Online, MobilePack™ events, and special Holiday and Gala events.• Develop and maintain local and international MarketPlace Partner relationships and procure/import items.• Work with US Customs and Border Protection to procure and import items correctly and efficiently.• Create and manage annual MarketPlace budget.• Manage direct reports to ensure sales goals are reached and merchandise is stocked.• Craft MarketPlace-related messaging, stories, and signage, to ensure consistent branding.

This title assisted the Operations Manager in overall packing operations for Feed My Starving Children (FMSC) at permanent packing sites. Tasks included: • Support Operations Team by creating and enhancing technology solutions, site fundraising tools,workflow/process changes, and overall volunteer experience. • Plan, coordinate, and facilitate Operations Trainings and Senior TeamLeader meetings as needed. • Assist in hiring, training, developing, and retaining personnel in site packing operations.

As Site Supervisor I was responsible for the daily operations of Feed My Starving Children's Brooklyn Park/Coon Rapid's site. Responsibilities included:• Hire, train, schedule, and manage performance of site operations and personnel.• Effectively communicate and facilitate regular meetings.• Create and manage site budget, food production goals, and complete required inventory reports.• Oversee warehouse operations, including fork lift driving, receiving and loading rawmaterials, supplies, and finished goods while following OSHA standards for entire site.While in this role - Meghan created and ran The MarketPlace project.

Oversee volunteer food-packaging groups of 10-90 youth and adult volunteers, ensuring quality packaging of Feed My Starving Children food product and creating a positive volunteer experience.

I began as a server at the downtown Loring Cafe. Unfortunately, that location closed in 2003 but I was fortunate enough to continue working at the Loring Pasta Bar and Varsity Theater in Dinkytown.I have always loved serving. I love meeting new people, providing a good dining experience, and working in a beautiful, fun environment.

Working outdoors in the Greater Seattle area included: • Volunteer management, public presentations and quality control for large/public volunteer events.• State park site monitoring, surveying, invasive species removal and replanting native plants.• Civic Engagement & Youth Outreach facilitation in classroom and week-long camping excursions.• Mountain trail construction and maintenance in the Cascade Mountains.
