Ensuring the successful delivery of the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP), a high standards trade agreement between New Zealand and ten other countries. Successfully completed public consultation seeking views on new membership, as well as followed correct protocols for New Zealand's role as Depositary in response to requests to join from the UK, China and Chinese Taipei. Also completed a major review process for the World Trade Organization. Demonstrated strong political acumen, quick grasp of new concepts and ability to manage a heavy and quickly changing workload.

Wellington & Wairarapa, New Zealand

• Logistics and Intelligence Manager for New Zealand’s responses to a range of large-scale emergencies, including the COVID-19 pandemic, Samoa measles outbreak, major tropical cyclones (i.e. Gita and Harold) Ambae Island volcanic eruption (Vanuatu) and Sulawesi earthquake and tsunami (Indonesia). • Project manager for the complete revitalization of the New Zealand Disaster Response Partnership, the Ministry’s arrangement with New Zealand NGOs and their local implementing partners. Also developed new policies and procedures to improve activity outcomes that prioritise localisation and inclusion.• Led team through a sizeable 2018-19 End of Financial Year funding process, successfully ensuring the delivery of over 21 contracts to a tune of over NZ$30 million.• Developed a NZ$10.4 million Strategic Partnership with the New Zealand Red Cross that focuses on improving local disaster preparedness and response capacity in the Asia-Pacific region.• Planned and delivered a successful visit to Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh, followed by completion of a comprehensive monitoring and evaluation report, assessing activities being delivered in Rohingya refugee camps.

Wellington Region, New Zealand

• Led major reforms to tertiary training and skills development programmes, including in Samoa and Kiribati. Engagement with senior officials (including Ministers of Education) on best approaches to improve gaps in education and employment.• Other contributions to the Ministry include being a Health and Safety Representative for the Pacific and Development Group (PDG), the Solomon Islands, PNG and Nauru Governance Group and the Women’s Executive Committee.

Conducted in-depth research of school feeding programmes in Kachin and Shah states of Myanmar, assessing their effectiveness in providing adequate nutrition for children in conflict and post-conflict areas.

Pakistan

Worked with the Center for Disaster Risk and Climate, a civil society organization based in Chitral, Pakistan to improve the recovery efforts of those impacted by devastating flooding, including conducting research on gender-sensitive Early Warning Systems.

Colombia

Provided strategic support for major CSA projects in Asia and Africa (Senegal, Ghana, Niger, Mali, Burkina Faso), Central America (Guatemala) and Asia (Vietnam). Initiatives included USAID's Feed the Future, World Bank CSA country profiles, CCAFS funded pilots of the Climate-Smart Agriculture Prioritization Framework, and CCAFS Flagship Project Partnerships for Scaling CSA. Also conducted research to determine entry points for partnerships in project countries, as well as analysis to improve project outcomes for women.

Greater New York City Area

Negotiated resolutions during the 69th General Assembly, Second Committee (Economic and Social Development) and Fifth Committee (Budgetary and Administrative). Covered range of issues, including Financing and Operational Activities for Development, the Post-2015 Development Agenda, Forestry and Climate Change. Compiled succinct notes and wrote reports to be sent back to Capital for policy review.Also conducted research on human rights issues, including effectiveness of Security Council resolutions on Iraq, Cyprus, Mali and Libya. Wrote review of abuses in Syria, including educational concerns for children both in country and as refugees.Represented New Zealand at high-level events, collaborating with other member states, executives of different agencies and non-governmental organisations.

Bay Of Plenty, New Zealand

Monitored environmental management standards and tracked policy changes for one of Australasia’s prominent renewable energy companies. Maintained compliance for hydroelectric and wind generation, and notified environmental team of possible breaches. Researched improvements in regards to protecting bird habitats, long-fin eel populations and water quality. Coordinated with local groups to build stronger collaborative relationships that will ensure better protection of the environment.Developed and presented proposals on both how to attract ethical investment and address climate change adaptation preparedness. The latter identified the significant risks to natural resource resilience and how this may limit company operations. Positive feedback from senior management team has helped make climate change a more central component of the company’s growth strategy.

Assisted Eugenie Sage MP on environmental policy and campaigns. Conducted research, prepared parliamentary speeches and campaigns on a variety of issues, including the protection of national parks and marine reserves, increasing native species populations and reducing air pollution.

Rabat Prefecture, Morocco

Worked in a small, locally engaged office, where I was responsible for managing national events during the 16 Days of Activism against Militarism and the Dignity Campaign, facilitating with NGOs and senior management.Wrote detailed reports and campaigned on a variety of issues, including maternal mortality, refugee rights and education for girls and young women in the Middle East and North Africa.Assisted in human rights education programs in secondary schools.
