Together, we provided oversight for all aspects of agency operations including Board and staff development, community relations, contracts, strategic and fiscal planning, program visioning and implementation, fund development, evaluation, reporting and more. (Previously I served as Acting Executive Director 12/2011 - 1/2012, as well as 9/2013 to 1/2014.)• As Operations Director (and also as Community Mobilization Director), I oversaw all programming, as well as led and assisted with fund development, human resources, program and agency budgeting, policy advocacy, and more. • As Program Manager, planned and implemented health and human services programming, developed a program budget, managed mini-grant contracts including RFP process, conducted strategic planning, facilitated advisory board and coalition meetings, engaged in reporting and identified and secured new funding sources to sustain our operations.

WASAVP Board Members:• Help shape the direction and provide vision and direction for the Association along with my colleagues.• Analyze proposed rules and policies, and craft responses to them.• Testify before state boards and committees in support of health and human service-related causes.• Plan and implement annual statewide Prevention Policy Day engaging over 100 youth and adult advocates in policymaker and community education and advocacy.• Serve as a leader in the public health and human services fields, helping to shape policy at the State level and beyond.

Big Brothers Bis Sisters of Southwest Washington works to enhance the positive development of Southwest Washington youth by providing them with a caring adult volunteer Big Brother or Big Sister. In my role as a Big Sister, I enjoyed learning, sharing and giving back by spending time with my Little Sister.

United General Hospital's Community Health Outreach Program provides resources and delivers programs to enhance the health and wellbeing of Skagit County community members.• As an intern, completed 400-hour internship through WWU’s Community Health Education Major, focusing on health education program planning and tobacco prevention. I was hired upon graduation. • As Health Education Program Planner, delivered presentations and trainings, aided in the development and facilitation of a coalition, and helped plan and implement local tobacco education and advocacy. In this role, I also drafted technical writing pieces including meeting minutes, press releases, newsletter articles and grants. • As a contracted Grant Writer, drafted and submitted letter of intent and full project proposal to American Legacy Foundation’s Small Innovative Grants program for a health policy change project at a residential job skills training program. The proposal was subsequently funded, and its legacy continues to impact the lives and health of students at Cascade Job Corps center in Skagit County.

Western Washington University's Prevention and Wellness Services seeks to enhance student and community health while also creating a safe, socially just campus for all identities.• As a Lifestyle Advisor (LA), I participated actively in dynamic, multidisciplinary health education and wellness training, as well as led peer education projects and activities on WWU campus. In this role, I also acted as a student leader among LA groups, participating in Student Coordinator team meetings and representing the LA program on WWU’s Campus-Community Coalition, a group committed to reducing alcohol abuse and underage drinking.• As an Alcohol Risk Reduction Peer Educator, I facilitated individual and group alcohol risk reduction peer education sessions using social norms marketing approach.• As a Teaching Assistant, I supported Prevention and Wellness Services staff during the LA training class in Spring 2003.
