As resident consultant the task includes supporting the State Rural Livelihood Mission , UMED across all components.The role demands technical support to the projects , seeking innovative partnership, supporting convergence in sanitation and nutrition.Promoting Wash convergence and promoting SHG based sanitation enterprise with Government of India and WSSD has triggered the wash livelihood approach The umed project is across 14 districts in intensive mode and in other districts semi intensive mode through Self Help Group Movement

As a core team member of the WSP team worked across eight states to bring wash intervention through livelihood approach. Spearheaded by WSP the approach aims to support the SBM through the women self helps groups under NRLM (National Rural Livelihood Mission). As a team member was actively involved in Maharashtra in convergence approach in 300 plus gram panchayat and in Tamilnadu , Bihar, AP and Telgana for propagating wash governance in the initiatives.

i. Bihar Rural Livelihoods Project: Making community institutions accountable through community led Governance and Accountability (GAC) tools like community score cards, etc.; ii. Orissa Rural Livelihoods Project: Developing and implementing training modules on GAC for community institutions and project staff; Making community institutions accountable through community led GAC tools like community score cards, etc.; and mainstreaming grievance redress system in the project.iii. National Rural Livelihoods Project: Supporting SRLM in developing and implementing GAC framework and handholding initial GAC pilots at the village and cluster level community institutions in Wardha district; Developing certificate course on GAC in cooperation with Tata Institute of Social Sciences and SP Jain Institute of Management. This would include support for developing course curriculum, course materials, etc.; and develop a knowledge product on GAC in community institutions.iv. Andhra Pradesh Rural Inclusive Growth Project: Support the WB task team in project preparation with a focus on making public services and entitlements delivery accountable and instituting community led GAC tools like community score cards, etc. Specifically: Review GAC mechanisms in other national government programmes (like NREGA, NRHM) involving in delivery of public services, safety nets and entitlements and GAC reviews by civil society organizations (such as the Public Affairs Centre, ANSA-South Asia, PRIA, etc.) To learn lessons and inform the project design; Undertake stakeholder consultations and field visits to get insights into current GAC mechanisms at the community institutions and support preparation of GAC implementation plan; and work with the client team to develop and initiate Information and Communication Technology (ICT) based pilots for GAC at the community level.

The Social protection project, Bihar dealt with institutionalizing reforms in the rural development sector. The task involved: supporting the RDD department for NREGA and society formation, monitoring the agencies in studying the Institutional and HR related aspect for piloting in Bihar ; developing shelf of work for North Bihar Flood affected areas and supporting the piloting of AIM (Alternate Implementation Model model) in Bihar.

Project : Multiple - Urban, Rural, ICT, GIS based projects; Key role in the Project: Director and Advisory Capacity providing guidance to city sanitation projects , GIS and ICT based projects used in development sector for development and implementation. Works on water and energy audits, promotes GIS & ICT in rural development and urban planning specially for slum sanitation. She has developed self learning ICT for rural youth in rural areas for employment generation and skill development through CSCs and short course for GIS and Development. Participatory GIS based tool - It provides map interface to data, this application allows user to prepare thematic maps, generate queries of data. An extremely low cost option which makes data interface with map possible.Women Counseling Information System (WCIS), India - This application has been specially designed for the women counseling centers for data maintenance and research work on women issues. It does data analysis and up gradation of individual cases, provides information on women laws related court cases etc.DIPS (District Information and Planning System) - The potential of computer model for strengthening the district planning. It incorporates various tools and methodologies required to be undertaken done by the district agencies / departments / research scholars.

Implementing City Sanitation plan for Nasrullaganj from September 20011 funded by UN-Habitat. The task involves guidance for the activities to be conducted for capacity building and awareness generation programs through community mobilization, awareness & capacity building activities. It also involves formulation of programmes to create public awareness for safe disposal of wastes and develop a system of segregation of waste at source and its decentralized system of disposal and performing sanitation related infrastructure works.

Client : Rural Development Department , GoMKey role in the Project: Eco Village program of RDD, Government of Maharashtra from 2011 deals with environment issues related to water, sanitation, deforestation and economic growth. A study of these growth centers will be carried out to understand future needs and to evolve a method for preparation of environmental action plan and plan for Open Defecation Free Growth Centre's. The role as lead expert will call for following activities:Map the villages to assess geographical locations and factors related to environment degradation and the economic growth of these centers.The understanding of economic growth factors will help understand the environmental impact and need of the growth centers.

Client : Rural water Supply and Sanitation Fund Board, Nepal Key role in the Project: The Nepal Second Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Project (RWSSP-II) was initiated in the year 2004. The target was to cover 1355 schemes, across eight batches in 75 districts spread across five regions by the year 2009. Social accountability was being mainstreamed in through Jagran Karyakram. The objectives of the assignment were to improve sector institutional performance and mainstream "the social accountability" approach in the project. The focus of the project was to empower in an all inclusive manner, rural communities by using a demand driven approach to service delivery and a participatory process in decision making to implement their water supply and sanitation schemes with the assistance of support organizations (NGOs, CBOs, private firms etc. recruited by the Board.The processes in Jagran Karyakram included setting up the phasing plan, institutional arrangement, designing and implementing the guidelines and procedures, planning and implementing capacity building programmes, developing and implementing transparency and accountability tools and promoting participatory community monitoring. The key task involved empowering 50 Para professionals, who had taken up activities in 100 villages, on social accountability through capacity building. The other activities included: Preparation of resource and IEC material for social accountability which included Jagran implementation plan, Jagran manual, Jagran posters, Jagran activity board, Community score cards, Community manual, Process audit booklet, Jagran cycle, Jagran leaflet, Jagran booklet etc.

Being a Knowledge Management Specialist, the role was to provide policy support to the unit in implementing the community driven projects under reforms approach and mainstream knowledge management across the rural drinking water supply and sanitation sector.
