In this role, I support grant applicants with grant request development and learn alongside of grant partners following grant awards. In my time at the Foundation, I have worked to advance a focus on equity, trust based philanthropy, general operating funding, and participatory grantmaking.Diversity, Equity, Inclusion: I co-lead the Foundation's work to integrate a racial equity framework into our overall strategy. This has included conducting internal assessments, supporting the Foundation staff and trustees' professional development, and most recently, guiding a consulting engagement.Participatory Philanthropy: The Foundation has grown its efforts to listen to our partners over the years, from creating feedback loops and co-creating events with grantees, to working directly with young people with disabilities and behavioral health issues affected by our work. This transformation has led to the launch of an Advisory Team using a participatory grantmaking strategy.Capacity Building: My focus on capacity building at the Foundation resulted in efforts to support grantee service providers in their transition from fee-for-service to value- based reimbursement and managed care. This has included hosting convenings, supporting cohort-based work, and guiding internal staff professional development.

At P2, I managed the Care Transitions of Western New York collaborative, a project awarded by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services to reduce avoidable hospital readmissions.As program manager, I provided oversight and quality improvement support to community based organizations and hospitals across seven counties throughout Western New York. I was responsible for convening, in-person and remotely, a steering committee and local work groups made up of clinicians and administrators.I also served as grant writer and program manager for a number of other initiatives, including developing a program that would serve as the lead funding source for the organization following the sunset of its original funding source.

As department lead, I managed agency-wide fundraising efforts for a federally qualified health center with a $5.5 million budget, including: federal grant writing, foundation grant writing, grants management, prospect research, annual appeal coordination, donor relations, event coordination, advocacy, online and print communications, and public relations.

In addition to grant writing, communications, events, and donor management, in this role I launched and coordinated an agency-wide volunteer program with nearly 125 volunteer and student interns and residents annually. I also led efforts to expand the agency's advocacy activities.

Performed constituent case work; advocating on behalf of constituents and organizations within the 10th District of Ohio. Extensive legislative research.

Interviewed individuals living with HIV/AIDS to understand the issues they face as a result of the disease. Worked to secure commitments from agencies throughout the community to fight the spread of HIV/AIDS among youth.

Management tasks included supervision of counselors, engaging local youth and their families. Designed age-appropriate curriculum for use by counselors and arranged and supervised field trips. Assisted in the redesign of the overall recreation program.
