I’m proud to be a Marketing Manager for the Indianapolis Zoo – the largest private Zoo in the United States. Growing up as a member of the Zoo, it’s gratifying to now be a part of its continued growth. The root of what I do creates an impact – for people, which helps animals, which broadens our platform to do more! I get to be a megaphone for great work being done; creative memorable family experiences; and connect sponsors, partners, volunteers and staff members for a purpose. So, while my strategic goal is to grow annual attendance, the hope is that a great experience will grow repeat visits and good stewards supporting animal conservation (while bringing out the kid in all of us).I enjoy strategy, marketing, people, logistics and pulling it all together. There’s never a shortage of ideas or tweaks to be made, so that the next time around projects come off better yet. A few highlights include:• Retooling a tourism advertising campaign to nearly triple in response.• Consistently growing two of the Zoo’s biggest events that have doubled in attendance.• Creating lasting partnerships with community organizations, sponsors and volunteers.• Being asked to recommend strategic, branding and budgetary guidance to projects beyond my own.Specialties: Strategic direction, advertising design and placement, large event planning and execution, creation of targeted promotions, partnership/relationship development, brand strategy consistency, hiring great talent, empowering team members, reliable listener, motivated leader.
