Whether I’m developing my bass technique or JavaScript skills, I’m always striving to improve. In my 10-year career as a musician and teacher, I have developed the arts of attention to detail, long-term planning, and discipline through self-awareness, creativity, and curiosity.I am now applying these attributes to the tech world after completing Nucamp’s Full Stack Bootcamp with honors. When I’m not building a React app, learning Python, or playing music, you can find me hanging out with my husband and my dog, Ligeti. Here are a few great reasons to hire a musician as a software developer:1. We know how to break down a long project into small chunks and work diligently on them one at a time.2. There are major similarities in the structural understanding of intangibles between music and programming, including non-verbal language-learning.3. We take ownership over our projects and follow through at as high a level as possible - it is nearly impossible to phone-in a featured performance.4. We know how to work creatively and collaborate with other people.5. We have great stories (ask me about being on Keeping Up with the Kardashians!)My Stack (so far!):Programming Languages: JavaScript, C, Python, Typescript, PHPWeb Development: HTML, CSS, Bootstrap, React, ReactNative, Redux, NodeJS, React HooksTools and Databases: Git/GitHub, Bash, GitHub Pages, Heroku, MongoDB, Max/MSP, PostgreSQLResume: bit.ly/mcdevitt-resume-feb2021Portfolio: mcdevittbass.github.io/portfolio
