Provided leadership for all aspects of MCHA, New Jersey’s largest county historical organization with an extensive artifact and archival collection. Responsible for driving consistent achievement of its mission and financial objectives. Responsibilities included but are not limited to strategic planning and implementation; fundraising; revenue enhancement; establishing and maintaining mission-aligned partnerships; board development, and facilities management.Selected Achievements:• Increased the impact and raised awareness of MCHA through new programs and initiatives that engaged new and diverse audiences.• Directed the development and implementation of programs and initiatives to illuminate the historical contributions of historically marginalized communities in order to harness the power of historical knowledge to help address contemporary problems and concerns. • Received grants from the New Jersey Historical Commission (NJHC) and the New Jersey Council for the Humanities to reinterpret the Association's colonial-era historic sites to tell the stories of the enslaved individuals who lived and worked on the properties. This project received the Giles R. Wright Award from the New Jersey Historical Commission.• Directed the development and implementation of a critically acclaimed historical exhibition on Bruce Springsteen’s life, career, and ancestral ties to Monmouth County.

Transformed the historic site and public green space into a mission-driven community asset. Provided leadership for all aspects of the organization, driving consistent achievement of its mission and financial objectives. Selected Achievements: • Created, developed, and implemented new site interpretation, programs, and initiatives to expand appreciation for, and understanding of, the historic site while connecting to relevant contemporary interests and concerns. • Significantly increased mission-relevant community partnerships by identifying and engaging with organizations and individuals promoting the arts, innovation, and environmental stewardship.• Established an Artists in Residence program which received funding from the National Endowment for the Arts. The program invites artists to create site-specific work that challenges dominant historical narratives by focusing on issues such as environmental conservation, wealth inequality, race, and industrialization, among other contemporary social issues.• Oversaw significant site improvements and building restoration projects, including reopening the carriage house to serve as a workspace for a boat-building program serving middle and high school students, and establishing community gardens.• Community engagement initiatives received awards from the City of Philadelphia’s Department of Behavioral Health & Intellectual disAbility Services, and the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society.• Initiated and provided leadership for transformation of organizational culture and structure by unifying the board around a new direction of relevance and community engagement. Outcomes include revision of the bylaws to achieve board diversity and increase fundraising capacity. • Secured largest grant in the organization’s history to establish Glen Foerd as an environmental and recreational riverfront destination. • Tripled revenue by identifying new revenue streams and restructuring vendor agreements.

Provided museum services and professional expertise to the National Museum of Industrial History (NMIH). Participated in the master planning process, specifically around interpretation and exhibition development. Supervised collections care, management, and conservation of artifacts on loan to NMIH from the Smithsonian’s National Museum of American History. Responsible for training and implementation of best practices in collections management, collection care, conservation practices, and emergency preparedness procedures. Selected Achievements:● Established intellectual and physical control of museum collections by developing and managing the implementation of a Collections Management Policy and Procedures Manual. ● Created and developed a Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Response Plan to assess and manage risk, protect human life, and recover from natural and manmade disasters.

Directed all aspects of collections, exhibitions, interpretation and educational programs for Historic Bethlehem Museums & Sites (HBMS), an umbrella organization that operates two history museums, multiple historic sites, a decorative arts museum and 19 historic buildings spread over 20 acres in downtown Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. Selected Achievements:• Expanded HBMS’s public exposure by increasing collaborations with other community-based educational, arts and cultural organizations through cross-programming and promotion. • Worked in collaboration with the Mid-Atlantic Regional Center for the Humanities to advocate for a historic preservation and interpretation plan for the former Bethlehem Steel property.

Responsibilities included research, development, design, and installation of exhibitions, as well as the development of companion educational programming. Archival and library responsibilities included developing, organizing, cataloging, preserving and providing reference services for archival and library collections of HBMS’s member institutions. Selected Achievements:● Initiated, conceptualized and implemented a community-based, off-site exhibition commemorating the one-year anniversary of September 11th. The American Alliance of Museums highlighted the exhibition in Museum magazine.
