As a Teaching Assistant for Matematikk 1000 at Oslo Metropolitan University, I guide students to effectively use the derivative to model and analyze dynamical systems, and explain how integrals calculate quantities like areas, volumes, and work. I ensure students grasp numerical methods for solving equations, along with matrix calculations for systems of linear equations, and the intricacies of solutions in such systems. My role involves clarifying the concepts behind analytical and numerical methods used for first-order differential equations, and the key ideas of iteration and convergence in numerical methods.In terms of knowledge, I help students determine exact values for derivatives and antiderivatives using analytical methods. I aid in understanding the computation of approximate numerical values of derivatives and definite integrals, and the assessment of their accuracy. My teaching also encompasses guiding students through the process of using derivatives for optimization problems, performing calculations with complex numbers and matrices, and implementing numerical methods such as the bi-section and Newton method for solving equations. Moreover, I assist in using Taylor polynomials for approximating functions, solving separable and linear differential equations, and finding numerical solutions to initial value problems using the Euler method. I am also adept at teaching the implementation of basic numerical algorithms through assignments, loops, and if-tests.
