Meher Manda is a poet, short story writer, journalist, editor, and educator originally fromMumbai, India, currently based in Providence, Rhode Island. After an undergraduate degree inadvertising and journalism from the University of Mumbai, she earned her MFA in Fiction at theCollege of New Rochelle where she was the founding editor-in-chief of the literary journal TheCanopy Review. As a journalist, she writes about the intersection of culture and politics, with afocus on South Asian works of art. Her work can be found at The Juggernaut, The Guardian,Bustle, Scroll, Firstpost, and elsewhere.She is the author of the chapbook of poems Busted Models (No, Dear / Small Anchor Press,2019). Her poetry, fiction, and nonfiction has appeared in The Margins, Catapult, Epiphany,Sportklet, Hobart Pulp, Cosmonauts Avenue, Los Angeles Review, Barren Magazine, PeachMagazine, and elsewhere. A Best New Poets and Best of the Net Anthology nominee, she hasreceived fellowships and grants from The Polis Project, DreamYard, Teachers & WritersCollaborative, and J. N. Tata Endowment for Higher Education. She has been featured andinterviewed at Brooklyn Poets, Catharsis Magazine, Hyperallergic, Asia Art Tours, The PolisProject, Lumina Journal, The Hindu, and elsewhere.She is the writer behind the political web-comic Jamun Ka Ped, which she co-creates withMayukh Goswami, editor for indie publisher Radix Media, and a lecturer at the Rhode IslandSchool of Design. She has completed a poetry manuscript titled Some of Many Women, and ashort story collection, Sicko Girl & Other Women, for which she has signed with agent DanielleChiotti. She is currently at work on a political graphic novel which she is co-creating withMayukh Goswami — A Town Like Every Other is forthcoming from Hachette India in 2025. Sheis also at work on her debut novel.
