A public affairs and government relations professional with a demonstrated history of working in Canadian politics/government and the global NGO sector. After graduating from McMaster University, her passion for policy, community advocacy, and politics inspired her to pursue a Post-Graduate Certificate in Government Relations. During that time, she worked in the offices of Members of the Canadian Parliament and at Queen's Park (Legislative Assembly of Ontario). She has since then worked for the Ontario Public Sector and as a senior staffer to a Toronto City Councillor. Moreover, her passion for women and youth issues inspired her to sit as a member of the Ontario Provincial Youth Cabinet, with a lead role in the Education and Employment Advisory Group. She has also worked with internationally renowned organizations including the United Nations Foundation and the Global Network of Women Peacebuilders (GNWP). On a national level, she has sat as the Vice-President of External Affairs for The Canadian Advisory of Women Immigrants (CAWI). She continues to support various Canadian organizations including the Canadian Council of Muslim Women, Nisa Homes and She Connects Canada. She also sat on the Advisory Group on Intersectionality (AGI) to the Commander Military Personnel Generation at the Canadian Department of National Defence and Canadian Armed Forces. She is currently pursuing a master’s degree at George Washington University and works as a Government Relations Specialist at Islamic Relief Canada.
