Autos & Shared MobilityMorgan Stanley Jun 2014 - Sep 2016New York, Ny, UsAt Morgan Stanley, I supported industry thought leader and top Wall Street Auto Analyst, Adam Jonas. Our research focused on disruptive trends around autonomous technology, ride-sharing, and electrification at a time when the automotive industry at large was quite skeptical of a paradigm shift away from selling human-driven, internal combustion engine vehicles towards a model where fully autonomous, all electric vehicles would be available on-demand, 24/7. Together, we covered the U.S. automakers (Tesla, General Motors, Ford, FCA, and Ferrari), Tier-1 suppliers (Aptiv, Magna, etc.), car rental firms (Avis, Hertz), and dealers (Autonation, Carmax, Penske, etc.). We also had the opportunity to interview dozens of leaders at mobility start-ups and raise awareness among the MS client base through our "Auto Disruptors" series. As part of my role, I conducted industry diligence, built earnings models, interviewed management teams, performed valuation using discounted cash flow and leveraged buyout analyses, wrote research, and engaged with clients. I also identified undervalued long and secular short ideas on a 12-18 month horizon generally with a contrarian perspective. After publishing our research, I got to debate our controversial calls with some of the smartest CIOs/PMs of large asset managers including hedge funds. -
Commodity StrategyMorgan Stanley Oct 2013 - Jun 2014New York, Ny, UsAs a Commodity Strategy Associate, I analyzed cyclical, fundamental, and FX drivers for energy, metal, and agriculture commodities. In particular, I was in charge of building and maintaining global supply/demand balances and statistical models to forecast agriculture commodity prices. Our team played a major role in advising clients during tense geopolitical and economic events including Russia's invasion of Crimea and the Argentine peso devaluation. During my tenure, I co-authored >80 publications which were disseminated to >10,000 clients. -
