Every Friday of the week, I ran a 2-hour long show called Bollywood Spice. I controlled the whole show including song choices, audio outputs, and transitions. I played my favorite Bollywood beats and dove into elements I enjoyed about every song. I used my platform to introduce listeners to my Indian culture.

The Lin Lab was focused on using the latest technologies to study mind-body practices, including the use of laser Doppler Flowmetry for measuring blood circulation, heart rate variability analysis of electrocardiography to measure stress and relaxation responses, electromyography for measuring muscle activity, and digital image analysis (Kinect) for measuring physical movements in exercise. The laboratory is exploring the use of the Microsoft Kinect platform for the 3-dimensional analysis of movements in Tai Chi and Yoga practices.

The isolation felt by the pandemic put a spotlight on various mental health problems. These problems were even more evident in the healthcare industry. As a result, I created a new club at UCI to address the mental health needs of pre-health students like burnout. The daunting journey to pursue a healthcare career brought together a community that could openly express themselves. Whether or not you wanted to go into healthcare, members of the club worked together to uplift each other and conquer problems that were rarely addressed to create a healthier society.

As a board member I was able to plan and arrange group events, calculate budgets for the team throughout the year, make disbursements, recruit new members, and coach the team from time to time. I learned how to allocate over $10k for fun activities, travel, and equipment for 80+ people.
