CORE QUALIFICATIONS• Ph.D. in Biochemistry with 15 years research experience in cell and molecular biology, diabetes mellitus, atherosclerosis, and calcific aortic valve disease• Well acknowledged in maintaining a safe work environment for a biological laboratory, being a member of the Institutional Biosafety Committee to review recombinant DNA work in animals and clinical trials• Experienced with project management including staffing, budgeting and research protection• Proficient with mentoring at various levels in a multidisciplinary laboratory• Extensive experience in scientific writing and oral presentationSKILL HIGHLIGHTS• Expertise with animal modeling and assessment, such as design and creation of conditional knockout mouse models, developing mouse models representative of human diabetic cardiovasculopathy• 3 years’ experience in compound testing in vitro and in diseased animal models• Extensive experience in histology, pathology and immunohistochemistry• Extensive experience with cell biology techniques, including primary cell preparation, co-cultures, cell signaling, such as, luciferase reporter analysis etc• Extensive experience in nucleic acid isolation and QC under various disease conditions, quantitative analysis of gene expression and regulation, such as qRT-PCR, Western blotting, ELISA, EMSA, Co-immunoprecipitation• Proficient with molecular biology techniques, including plasmid and viral construct creation, transient transfection, stable cell line development, genetic manipulation (mutation, over expression, and knockdown)• Experienced with novel method development and standardization for consistent performance
