Our company specialises in building the capacity of governments, businesses and the community in environmental-economic accounting (natural capital accounting). Environmental-economic accounting based on the UN System of Environmental-Economic Accounting (SEEA) is a multi-faceted exercise involving accountants, ecologists, economists, statisticians and geographers. Our aim is to improve the understanding of how people and society connect to the environment by integrating information about ecosystems and natural capital into their choices and decision making. Key policy and decision making applications include poverty and the environment, biodiversity finance (expenditure), regional planning and development, watershed management, water resource, marine and coastal resource assessments and forestry.We provide specialist services that bring experts from different disciplines together to deliver advanced accounting and information outcomes for better informed decision making. We work with the public and private sectors including: UNDP Poverty Environment Initiative (PEI), UNEP BIOFIN & TEEB, Food and Agriculture Organisation, OECD, World Bank WAVES, Australian Bureau of Statistics, and companies in the financial, forestry agriculture and water sectors

• Design and implement environmental-economic accounting for Victoria at the local, regional and state level for reporting. Areas of interest include accounting for biodiversity, water, land, ecosystems, wetlands, carbon, forests, rare and threatened species, etc. • Lead the design and implementation of environmental markets that aim to secure ecosystem services in both the private and public sector. • Provide expert advice on the design of environmental metrics that are consistent with environmental-economic accounting standards and can be used to implement environmental markets.• Provide economic analysis and strategic policy advice to environmental programs and projects at the state, national and international levels.• Provide expert advice on development and application of environmental modelling to support environmental markets in ecosystem goods and services (EnSym – Environmental Systems Modelling Platform)• Design and implement software solutions for environmental-economic accounting (EnSym, LandBlade)

The project is undertaking the following: - Visiting 7 pilot countries to assess policy priorities, data situation and tools used for ecosystem accounting.- Reporting on the assessment of policy priorities, data situation and tools used per pilot country. Each report will: (i) provide a national programme of work on how to advance the testing of the SEEA-Experimental Ecosystem Accounting, including the use of data sources such as GIS and remote sensing; (ii) identify relevant national stakeholders beyond statistical offices (e.g. in academia, research institutions, NGOs, etc.). - Developing a global Strategy for testing SEEA-Experimental Ecosystem Accounting- Develop and issue preliminary guidance documents to pilot countries on how to embark on SEEA-Experimental Ecosystem Accounting

Responsible for the design and implementation of environmental markets and accounts across the state of Victoria, and providing input to and maintaining connections with national and international initiatives.• Lead the design and implementation of environmental markets that aim to secure ecosystem services in both the private and public sector. • Design and implement environmental-economic accounting for Victoria at the local, regional and state level for reporting. • Provide expert advice on the design of environmental metrics that are consistent with environmental-economic accounting standards and can be used to implement environmental markets.• Provide economic analysis of environmental policies and strategic policy advice to programs and projects at the state, national and international levels.• Provide expert advice on development and application of environmental modelling to support the procurement of ecosystem goods and services (EnSym – Environmental Systems Modelling Platform)• Liaise with government and private industry stakeholders in the development and application of new initiatives

• Provide tactical and strategic economic input to the development of policy solutions in the environmental sector.• Manage the ecoMarkets environmental program, a $14 million government initiative to implement “market based approaches to redress landscape decline”• Lead the development and application of environmental modelling and policy analysis to support the procurement of environmental goods and services (EnSym – Environmental Systems Modelling Platform)• Provide strategic economic advice and support to programs and projects at the state, national and international levels.
