About ✰ Meindert Schaap ✰

-- I am interested in all areas where - child and adolescent psychology, - the development and implementation of effective intervention methodologies, - coaching and training, - advocacy, and - senior management & leadershipjoin together, with a special interest for children and youth aged 10-18 who are living under very difficult circumstances internationally. The last 25+ years, I have worked in the above fields with a lot of passion and a strong drive to help improve the lives of these children/youth. For more than 15 years now, I have been mainly involved in developing new, innovative programs for disadvantaged at-risk children and youth, and - together with a team of people locally - in bringing these programs to life. In doing so, I continually try to build bridges between academic research, field research, policies, and the practical realities 'on the ground' (field workers, the children/youth themselves, grassroots organizations, etc).I BELIEVE that is IS possible to assist children and youth in reaching their full potentials and to make this world a (at least somewhat) better place. THESE KIDS DESERVE IT!--Specialties: ☆ 'Translate' betw. research, policy, and field-level, grassroots practice☆ Work directly with children and youth (individually, in groups, particip. action research, psychotherapy)☆ BUILD new programmes: develop, initiate, implement☆ In-depth knowledge & strong intuition in working with children/youth at risk☆ Creative innovation -- e.g., interactive methodologies for behavior change☆ Develop and conduct training sessions☆ Inspire, Enthuse☆ Advocate for children's rights and well-being
