About Mekena Macpherson

I am currently a senior at the Jon M. Huntsman School of Business at Utah State University. I am working toward my bachelor's degree in accounting. I am currently seeking an internship in the accounting world. My end goal is to get my master's as well as to become a cpa (certified public accountant).I have used Microsoft Excel extensively for three years and have a clear understanding of database structure, SSMS (SQL Server Management Studio), and Microsoft Word and PowerPoint. I am currently being taught how to use the Lacerte Tax System. My previous job experiences have provided opportunities to work with the general public, and I've built customer service skills while simultaneously gaining experience with financial transactions.Apart from these hard skills, I am also very self-motivated, complete work on time, honest, and organized. I am currently a full-time student and work part-time. Managing my time is an important skill to have in this time of my life. I believe that honesty is also a very important value to have in the accounting profession. I am honest and have integrity and believe neither can be compromised when working with clients. Work and school experiences have helped me be a great team member and independent worker.
