I am responsible for the ongoing development of our diverse work force. Implementing inhouse learning, verifying any outsourced Management courses as well as meeting any other workplace training requirements and I am knowledgeable with Microsoft software/products. I use Microsoft Clipchamp to produce training content. I also support People and Culture when required. I maintain training data bases schedule training and expiry dates. I have completed an Adult Literacy and Numeracy course through Open Polytech. The company now has a large International Workforce. I am partially responsible for their day-to-day pastural care and support. I collaborate with other heads of departments on special projects.

When I started, I was looking after 90 employees which grew to over 200 within a year. The company had basic HR systems which I was able to develop to include - Operating Manuals and policies, advertising vacant positions on Seek and Trademe. Write position descriptions. Work with job applicants and department heads to find the perfect applicant. Followed by phone and in person interviewing. Present new employee contracts (often multiple new employees in different branches of the company at the same time), perform reference checks, while keeping up to date databases and electronic records/files. Provide informative H and S and HR inductions. I also handled performance reviews and contract variations. I was hands on with working at improving performance issues and transition people out of the business. I was responsible for booking drug and alcohol testing as well as background checks. When the job became full time, I took over the Learning and Development role.

Within the first year of getting my license, I was running the office (with the support of the regional Manager and Owner). My responsibilities included the sales team, property managers and administration support staff. Within the time with this company, I was running a successful busy branch and selling (on average) over 30 properties per annum. Mentoring, training and developing (on probation) new sales staff was a passion of mine. Yearly performance targets and KPIs was my responsibility as well as reporting to internal stakeholders.
