Additionally, I worked on the Furnace Isle project.For the Waterval Furnace Matte, I successfully implemented 4 distinct energy management projects (including those that involved peak clipping and fuel switching) that achieved impressive savings of R1 mil per annum. I am also investigating energy savings on the air compressor, which enables continuous transfers of concentrate to furnaces (2000 tonnes/day). For the Furnace Isle project, I secured savings of R1.5mil per annum, reducing the time ladles were left under burners from 9 to 3 days and I minimised the LPG used by adhering to the process required via a human intervention energy management program. I managed a project that tested the dielectric breakdown voltage analyses of fluoropolymers over a range of temperatures. Duties included assisting with equipment modification, completing analysis and communicating effectively with the client at all stages.
