Throughout my career I have been able to work with some amazing leaders and hold several leadership roles. All have challenged me indifferent ways. But nothing like my experience post maternity leave trying to re-establish my leadership career. At this time I really found myself questioning my abilities, my inner critic was in overdrive and I felt like I had been left behind. Sharing with other women I knew I wasn’t alone. And I knew there had to be a solution out there. I looked into a range of different options for help. I spent time with a coach who helped me with my negative beliefs, my mindset and got me future focused. I also completed role specific development to widen potential roles. Not long after I transitioned into a more senior leadership role, one that I truly wanted and enjoyed for many years. This experience highlighted for me how many leaders experience similar thoughts about stepping into leadership roles, questioning themselves, their abilities and their success.
