I started working for H&M when I was fresh out of college. I have been working for the company for over fourteen years now with a couple of months being away as I have moved abroad quite a bit in the recent years.I started as a Sales Advisor and got a position as a Visual Merchandiser less than two years in. I was the only Visual Merchandiser in my store so I was the one responsible for thewindow, indoor appearance and placement of garments as well as all the other mannequins and decorations in the store. As a VM I was attending yearly meetings in our Area Offices, I was also designated to convey all the information concerning the campaigns and other activities to the rest of the staff.One of the highlights of my career was definitely attending three different re-openings of H&M stores, one of which was in Zagreb (Croatia), as a part of a support team.After being a VM for five years I have fulfilled my life dream of moving to Australiawhere I continued to work as an SA in a Brisbane H&M Store. I got offered a Flagship Visual Merchandiser position in a Birmingham H&M Store which I could not say no to so I went on to move to the UK where I stayed for about eight months. While I loved my job and being a VM again, I missed Australia a lot. I decided to go back and resume my old job which I currently hold.I have really enjoyed the dynamic of the workplace, the acceptance and strive for diversity, and mostly the ability to progress and grow within the company if only one has the desire to do so.Other skills worth mentioning that I have acquired through my studies and have proven to be useful at the work that I to do, are definitely active knowledge of English and Slovenian language as well as passive knowledge of German and Italian.I have finished an Advance Diploma course in Travel and Tourism and the Advance Diploma course in Leadership and Management as well.After years of having to work only part time due to my work restriction that was one of the visa conditions I had here in Australia, I am now a holder of the Partner Visa and am finally able to work full time, which is beyond exciting! I am open to new and exciting opportunities since I now have been able to work as a VM for the past two some years, and am hoping for advancing to a VMM position in the future as I have accumulated 14+ years of experiences working in retail, 8 of those as a Visual Merchandiser, in so many different stores with hundreds of people across the world.
