I am a 28 year old graduate who is currently looking for employment prior to finishing my degree at the University of Canterbury. I have a broad range of skills that I have gained in diverse environments including Hospitality, Completing a Bachelor’s degree (Endorsement in Ecology) at University of Canterbury, working in a Medical Laboratory (Microbiology) and completing a scholarship programme with Lincoln University. I am looking for a career to challenge and motivate me on a daily basis that may potentially lead to me advancing in my role. Within my biology degree many field trips have allowed me to carry out experiments which include proposing hypotheses, data collection, data analysis and report writing. Eight years hospitality experience which has provided me with excellent customer service skills and learning to work under stress in a fast paced environment. My scholarship with Lincoln University allowed me to improve my interviewing techniques working within Māori communities as well as reporting collected information. Practical scientific skills such as microscopy and sample culturing gained working in a Microbiology laboratory for causally for four years, as well as just over a year full time. I like to show dedication in performing experiments safely and following all of the proper regulations to ensure reliability.I have also been offered a role at Orana Park doing volunteer work, as a huge passion of mine is working with animals I hope this is a good step in moving towards my desired career.
