During my time working with at West Island Manor, I had many roles. I would arrive early, greet the residents and aid them in heading to breakfast. After breakfast, I would gather the residents for morning exercises where we would do stretches and play low organized games accounting for each resident's mobility. After this, we would have some one of one time to sit and talk until lunch. After lunch, there would be tea and snacks - I would set the cart and follow a list of who could have what substance and how each was to be prepared. After each resident was served, the afternoon activities would begin. Sometimes the activity would be a low energy affair, a film or a relaxing day on the patio. Sometimes we would do some more creative activities such as painting or crafts.At the end of the day, we would have talks and visits, listening to stories or playing cards.
