I'm an Oberlin College graduate with a double major in Environmental Studies and French Language. My environmental studies were focused on environmental justice and supplemented with out of class community organizing work. I learned about the intentionally hidden ways in which vulnerable communities are systematically denied resources, and are subjected to the worst health impacts and environmental degradation. Since college, I have found my way towards other justice oriented work, currently as a Program Manager at Chicago HOPES for Kids. We run literacy focused after school programming for students experiencing homelessness at shelters around Chicago. I write curriculum for our Kindergarten - 5th grade programs including individualized literacy support as well as training and supporting our Site Coordinators, and managing our Americorps State & National grant.
