Our mentors are IEHPs who have made it through the complex, difficult process and want to share their expertise to help others. We enable newly immigrated health professionals to begin working in their professions sooner than without mentorship. Canada’s healthcare system has been stretched to the limits by the intense, long lasting demands of this pandemic. There are a record number of health care job postings unfilled - there were 112,000 vacancies in Nursing alone in Canada in Feb. 2021. The Canadian Medical Association, Canadian Federation of Nurses Unions and other organizations have cited this shortage as an urgent need. Hospital Emergency Departments are being forced to close due to staffing shortages and remaining healthcare workers are struggling with burnout due to the increased demands of constantly working while understaffed. Meanwhile, many IEHPs are eager to achieve their goal of working in their professions to help Canadians. the need for passionate, culturally diverse healthcare workers to strengthen our communities and economies has never been greater. Mentor Me is an innovative, flexible and personalized solution that will help create a stronger health care workforce and more inclusive, equitable and diverse communities all over Canada. Show less
