My name is Melanie and I am a student at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. I am currently a junior majoring in accounting. I am exploring to see which area of accounting I would like to focus on. I am eager to continue to learn about the world of accounting and am on a path way to be CPA certified. I am currently the executive club secretary for the Lee Women in Business organization at UNLV. LWIB focuses' on empowering, education, and elevate future business leaders. This student run organization hold's workshops, and networking events to inform women about tools needed in the business world. I am passionate about growing this club and being able to help more women pursue leadership roles in business.In my spare time I love volunteering for organizations in my community. I have been volunteering with Project 150 for three years now and I love the organization as their values align with mine. I am open to lend a helping hand in any organization around the Las Vegas valley. Some organizations I enjoy volunteering at would include the Springs Preserve, Three Square, The Just One project and many more. I am also a volunteer for the community garden on campus.
