I taught a college Health and Wellness course, HWE 111, to high school students at Early College Academy. We covered the following topics: emotional health, nutrition, stress, physical activity, communicable disease, chronic disease, drug use, sexual health, violence, and aging. Each topic was covered both at the basic scientific level and in the context of behavior change.

I ran a phase I clinical trial entitled 'Physical activity and dietary chemoprevention acceptability and feasibility trial' in 20 participants. We examined the feasibility of a physical activity education session and 12-week dietary intervention of rice bran and navy bean powder in adults with stage 0-II colorectal cancer.Study responsibilities:-I scheduled all participant visits in the Human Performance Clinical Research Laboratory at CSU-I was the study phlebotomist -I administered a physical activity education session utilizing social cognitive theory techniques at the beginning of the trial -I programed, placed, and analyzed activPAL accelerometer data with R statistical software-I conducted stool sample analysis including lyophilizing, extracting of DNA, running PCR, and quantifying 16s rRNA -I prepareed samples for metabolomic analysis-I helped prepare study foods and control foods in an industrial kitchen-I assisted in all other study-related tasks as needed by the study coordinator

During my junior and senior year at Colorado State University, I worked 10-15 hours per week as the Lead Chemistry tutor at The Institute for Learning and Teaching at CSU. This position entailed high level knowledge about general and organic chemistry. Further, I conducted interviews of prospective tutors, resolved student and tutor conflicts, created schedules, attended meetings, attended tutor trainings, and created supplemental materials such as table signs and name tags. I acquired customer service experience, teaching experience, conflict resolution experience, public speaking experience, and leadership experience.

I worked as a research assistant in a cognitive neuroscience research laboratory with Dr. Carol Seger. I attended weekly laboratory meetings and ran participants in various behavioral studies. I learned about communication in a research laboratory setting and about cognitive neuroscience as a whole.

Before being promoted to lead chemistry tutor, I was a general chemistry tutor at the Institute for Learning and Teaching (TILT) at CSU. I acquired teaching skills, communication skills, and public speaking skills.
