Responsible for the overall administration and operation of the Hammer's exhibitions and publications, as well as administrative and financial oversight of other programming departments. Major responsibilities include developing, monitoring, and authorizing expenditures within a complex project and department budget; strategizing, developing, managing, and implementing robust and ambitious multi-year plans, schedules, and concurrent timelines for exhibitions and publications, reaching a growing and diverse constituency; developing, negotiating, administering, and implementing complex exhibition and publication contracts; managing the Museum's touring exhibition program, including venue solicitation, development of co-organization and venue contracts, and scheduling and budget reconciliation; and providing ongoing day-to-day and long-term direction and guidance to the curatorial department in its finances, operations, staffing, policies, and procedures.Serves as Museum's external liaison to local, national, and international museum officials, curators, cultural institutions, publishers, designers, distributors, and others for exhibition, publication, and program matters.Directly supervises exhibitions and publications staff members, and provides oversight, management, and (together with Deputy Director) approval of all administrative and financial aspects of curatorial, academic programs, public programs, public engagement, and artists' residency programs. Works in especially close conjunction with curatorial and collections staff, and closely with all Museum staff as primary internal for exhibition, publication, and program-related matters.
