My PhD and postdoctoral activities (University of Marburg) focus on the characterization of the cell death pathway ferroptosis, which plays a role in numerous diseases such as Alzheimer's, stroke and cancer, and the link to the in vivo model of hemorrhagic stroke caused by hemin. I was also engaged in the development and characterization of novel synthetic selenium compounds. During this research I was able to gain a lot of practical experience and develop my skills as a biologist. The emphasis of these studies were set on the measurement of cellular and mitochondrial parameters using biochemical methods.
