I recently acquired my Google IT Support Professional Certificate through the Merit America program. Through my studies, I’m gaining skills in Networking, Troubleshooting and Operating Systems. I’m heavily focused on problem-solving to effectively find solutions to issues that may occur. Along with these skills, I am also working full time as a Mail Clerk for the United States Postal Service. I started my career in the customer service field. From working with FedEx as delivery driver, to the food and beverage industry, to my current role as a Mail Clerk; juggling customer concerns from all aspects has been my primary focus. Adapting additional learned skills like strengthening interpersonal relationships and moving into leadership roles has sharpened my problem-solving approach. When it comes to customer service, remaining relatable has helped in handling situations. Being able to listen to customer concerns and understanding of where they’re coming from is important to resolving their problem. As for interpersonal relationships, being able to communicate effectively with my co-workers helps us accomplish our main goal: Getting the job done. Last, moving into a leadership role has helped to bring everything together as transferable skills. Providing customer service and implementing interpersonal skills has helped me to adapt to change quickly, remain a fast learner and be quick on my feet. Altogether, given my work history and current position, I believe I will make an excellent IT Support Specialist. With being a self-starter, my eagerness to continue to learn new things and my professionalism, I will make a great fit for this position.
