Hi, I'm Melanie Passajou. Originally from Boone, North Carolina, I graduated from Appalachian State University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design. My creative process combines analog and digital processes and emphasizes experimentation and playfulness, which allows me to explore the multifaceted nature of design while also pushing its creative limitations. I enjoy exploring the relationship between typography and image through exhibition, editorial, branding, identity, and web design. Bookmaking, mixed media collage, and photography play an important role in my creative process as well.I believe that graphic design can be a powerful force that can shape society and culture. Design is ultimately an art form, a compelling mode of communication, and a means of advocacy for social change. Ultimately, I hope to use design to make a difference, no matter how large or small it may be.
