Mel has over 20 years experience in the commodities sector, and has a wide range of expertise and knowledge. During her 11 years at Morgan Stanley, she was COO for Oil (Europe) and Head of Physical Operations for both Light Ends and Distillates. Post the sale of the Morgan Stanley oil trading business to Castleton Commodities in 2015, Mel held the roles of Executive Director/Strategic Initiatives and Facilities Director.Whilst with Morgan Stanley, Mel was involved in almost every operational aspect of the physical oil business, from contract negotiation, trade financing, freight, regulation/sanctions and insurance, to large structured deals, such as DHL jet supply, the Ineos refinery and Petroplus Coryton refinery transactions. She set up the Aviation Fuel (Jet A-1) operations team from scratch, enabling Morgan Stanley to become one of the largest and most commercially successful physical shippers of Jet Fuel. In 2015, Mel also represented Morgan Stanley at MEP committee meetings in Brussels to brief/lobby on the effects of MiFID2 on the commodities sector.During her time at Castleton Commodities, Mel was chair of the New Business Approval Committee for Europe and Asia and project lead on numerous global cross functional work streams, including the transfer of complex IT systems and exchange positions from Morgan Stanley post sale. Since leaving Castleton Commodities, she has completed a Diploma in Governance, Risk and Compliance with the International Compliance Association and set up a consultancy working for clients in the oil, gas and power sectors.

o Executive Director / Strategic Initiatives• Project Lead on both strategic and operational cross functional projects/workstreams. Transitioning the Oil trading business from Morgan Stanley to CCI, and subsequently stand up and grow the business:o Contract novation: reengineered communication between Operations and Trading plus engaged directly with key counter parties to move process along that had stalled. Result was 80%+ contracts novated for Day 1.o Market Data: bottom up review of global market data licences. $750k saving identified. o Exchange transfers: complex process of transferring live exchange market positions between MS and CCI. o Onboarding highly complex IT system from Morgan Stanley: managing complex workstreams that touched every department of the firm.o Chair of the New Business Approval Committee (Europe/Asia): seek support/approval for new trading initiatives. Facilities Director:o Budget management, bench marking and annual commercial review of multiple supply contracts.• Managed a team of 3 Admin staff and 1 Facilities Manager• Oversaw the complete fit out at floor 34, 20 Fenchurch street (Walkie Talkie building) and subsequent relocation from Canary Wharf.o During the fit out, built and managed relationships with designers and commercial build team, keeping stakeholders in US Head office and London updated. Project completed on time and under budget. • Set up new office infrastructure, policies and procedures including Business Continuity Plan.

• Project Lead on MiFID 2/implementation plans for Commodities. This required the review of 1500 plus pages of text, liaise with legal and compliance teams (internal and external). Attend meetings across the Firm and in Brussels. Met with MEP committees in Brussels in order to brief/lobby on effects of legislation on our business. MS representative for commodities and banking on industry regulatory body committees. Produced flow charts, write ups and training for trading desks to communicate changes and process.Head of Gasoline and Distillate Physical Operations:• Head of teams managing physical oil procurement and supply chains: waterborne transport, quality testing, loading, unloading, storage and sale and purchase of physical oil. Cost control and PNL management. Drafting and negotiating of legal contract templates. Supplier management and counter party partnering. Financing including Letter of Credit negotiations.• Pioneered improved communications with insurance underwriting market covering our physical business. By demonstrating our superior risk management principles and setting up an annual Q&A, our premiums reduced by appx 30% and this is now an annual event attended by over 50 underwriting firms.• Set up Aviation Fuel physical operations desk (Jet A-1). Set up contracts, processes, built commercial client base. Largest physical shipper of Jet Fuel in 2006 with a record profit.

o Operations Manager• Management of physical oil operations for Russian gasoil out of Ventspils and Black Sea. Waterborne, rail car and storage tank management. End to end logistics management.
