As the Community Development Officer, I am responsible for working with the community and supporting community initiatives, programs and events to enhance the health and well being of our community. I work within the community to identify gaps in service delivery and advocate for the community to increase services and support for our community.

Responsible for assisting the Centre Director with matters of an administrative and financial nature.

As part of the Defence Recruiting Team, I was responsible for interviewing candidates at the initial stage of inquiry and developing reports regarding their responses. I was part of the team that promoted defence jobs and attended informations sessions giving presentations on my past role as a Hydrographic Systems Operator in the Navy. Defence recruiting requires its career councilors to have a broad knowledge of all disciplines in the Defence Force and liase regularly with members to increase that knowledge.

At the time, this unit was known as the Hydrographic Office Deployable Survey Unit (HODSU)Deployments during this time were to Tasmania and the Solomon Islands as part of Operation Anode.The unit consisted of at most 2 x Able Seaman Hydrographic Systems Operators, a Petty Officer Hydrographic Systems Manager and a Senior Survey Officer.
