The Baptist Collegiate Ministries is a Christian center near the University of Florida whose primary purpose is to introduce students to Christ through Bible studies and services, and create a loving and authentic environment through outreach events and fellowship. My role here is to welcome and help hundreds of new students become a part of our community at our weekly worship services, monthly events, and weekly meals to ultimately lead them into a relationship with Christ. I also serve the organization through volunteer work at fellowship events such as our New Student Welcome Week activities to create a cohesive community. Furthermore, I lead students during one-on-one time to teach about Christ and the Bible and to work on their character development and leadership skills. My time as a leader here has taught me the importance of servant-leadership, humility, and cooperation to achieve a common goal.

I was a snare drummer for the Florida Drum Line. This is a year-long commitment that includes daily rehearsals, performances at UF football games, and opportunities to gain leadership skills. The drum line consisted of thirty members as part of a 500-piece band. We performed new weekly music for sporting events such as university football and basketball games in order to foster school spirit and serve the community. I also learned valuable leadership skills regarding collaboration with others, creation of goals, and teaching of music.
